Among the swarms swallows darting to and fro over the water at the Chappell Marsh one later afternoon in early June, there was a slightly larger bird that caught my eye! A Black Tern!

Never saw where it came from or where it went. It just soared brightly overhead and then was gone!
Luckily I got these two quick pics - as I don't think I've seen one since!
(It has a dark beak/bill - I think it looks light here as the sun is reflecting off of it).
Well, that took a a dark tern... ha ha
