another late night and another drawing scribbled out just before midnight, and posted somewhat after...

(I picked up The Walking Dead season 6 from the library yesterday... so we stayed up stupid late watching the first half of the season...).

Another busy day with early morning appointments... drew this during our Friday night D&D game. It was done before game night - the drawing, not the game.

Tomorrow's looking pretty busy as well... not sure when I'll fit in time to sit down and draw... but I'll figure something out!

We had an early blast of winter yesterday and I had to head out into it fairly early this morning with The Girl to get her to an appointment at the Eye Centre at City Hospital. While I was there I drew this little drawing of another dad there with his (somewhat younger) daughter. 

I had meant to do another drawing as my "official Inktober drawing" for the day, but just didn't get to it... so I've kind of dropped the Great War Theme and the Inktober prompts for today (which was "hidden").

Cutting it a bit late... but still got it done. 

Not really what I was shooting for (no pun intended) - I'd hoped to find a reference photo of a heavy artillery piece firing. Most were just loading or with crews posing by them...

It's been a long damned time since I did any drawing. 

I kind of miss it.

Considering I've been trying to get motivated to working on that next Graphic Novel I've been no again off again working on - I kind of NEED to get drawing.

So I thought I'd jump on board with this Inktober thing since all the coolest kids seem to be doing it these days.

I present to you Inktober drawing #1



well... it's not awesome... but it also doesn't suck as much as I worried it might... and it's a START! It's SOMETHING - which is not nothing! so...

Pulpspotting

Just over 18 years ago I self-published Pulpspotting. It collected a story previously published in issues 25, 26, and 27 of ObLiVioSiTeR (a minicomic I published from 1995 – 2000) and was, at the time, the longest complete story with consistent artwork that I had yet produced. This was my first (and, so far, only) graphic novel.

The story is very loosely based on a end-of-the-school-year party I went to with a friend and thoughts I had about it and trends in popular culture afterwards. I’ll just leave it at that….

I’d actually planned to post this immediately after the post about the ObLiVioSiTeR… In fact I DID the ObLiVioSiTeR post so I could refer to it in this post and I did both of those posts so I could, when I announced the new graphic novel I’m working on, could point to this previous work… but…  you know… I’m lazy. I’d also wanted to sort out some sort of paypal account or way people could send money if they actually WANTED a copy of Pulpspotting (I still have a thousand or so of them in my basement!). Alas, I have still not managed to get around to doing that….
